Welcome to Duke Of Albany

The Duke Of Albany, nestled in the heart of Weymouth at 51 Park Street, offers a charming and authentic experience for travelers seeking a blend of history and local culture. Rated 4.5 stars, this pub with rooms sits just a short 6-minute walk from the golden expanse of Weymouth Beach and mere minutes from the train station, making it an ideal base for those eager to explore the coastal town and its notable landmarks, such as the Nothe Fort and its tunnels and museum.

Guests consistently praise the warm hospitality led by John, the welcoming owner, and his attentive staff. Their genuine friendliness and thoughtful gestures—like allowing early room access and luggage storage post-checkout without extra charges—imbue the Duke Of Albany with a sense of community rarely found in typical accommodations. This spirit creates a comforting atmosphere that instantly makes visitors feel at home.

The rooms, while modest and simple, are notably clean and spacious, equipped with practical amenities such as kettles, fridges, and dining areas. Families appreciate the versatile sleeping arrangements, including bunk beds and multiple beds, making it a great option for group stays. Although some guests mention that the showers can be temperamental and the rooms could benefit from minor TLC, the overall value for money and comfort is undeniable.

Being a working pub, the Duke Of Albany pulses with lively energy in the evenings. Visitors who relish a vibrant social scene will find the cheap pints, friendly regulars, and occasional karaoke nights a true representation of Weymouth’s local flavor. However, those in search of a quiet retreat should consider the dynamic nightlife as part of their planning. This candid mix of convivial noise and genuine warmth defines the character of the Duke Of Albany.

Free Wi-Fi and a smoke-free environment add to the convenience and comfort of guests. The absence of a restaurant and fitness center is balanced by the pub’s central location and close proximity to outdoor attractions, encouraging visitors to explore the town’s eateries and scenic spots.

In essence, the Duke Of Albany is more than just a place to stay—it is a vivid slice of Weymouth’s coastal charm, blending affordability, hospitality, and culture into an experience that stays with you. For travelers keen to immerse themselves in local life and seaside adventures, this welcoming establishment is a worthy choice to return to again and again.

John the owner is very friendly and welcoming as where all the staff, we where able to access the room before check in which we greatly appreciated. Thank you. Room was spacious and spotlessly clean, wardrobe, bedside cabinets, lamps , kettle, plates and forks etc , fridge , dining table , one double and 2 singles in bunk bed form, mirror and chair for doing hair etc. We had the family room. Bed had a protector , topper and very comfortable, tv in both sides of the room Bathroom was good standard with a lovely warm shower, towels hand soap and shower gel provided. Awsome location, Great pub with live entertainment, Best pub prices in wyemouth, Friendly atmosphere Beach less then 5 minutes away Plenty of places to eat and drink within minutes Definitely recommend. Just bare in mind as I say it has live entertainment and is also an operational pub this absolutely didn't affect our stay but at weekends if you want to be in bed by 10pm bare this in mind. Brilliant weekend and a worthy stay.

Such a lovely people welcomed with a warm heart and took care of everything. Room was lovely with exceptional value for money. They even helped us keeping our luggage after we checked out with no extra charges. I know people who don’t do such things but these people are real champs. Such a great experience.

Hosts are amazing! Helpful advice provided for anything we wanted.Location is awesome, BUT if you wanted a peaceful night sleep then location is not for you! First night - karaoke and disco until 1 am, and then people waiting for a taxi until about 2 am. It's a working pub, so we were aware of it. Just choose a place out of town if you wanted a good night sleep. Room was comfortable, shower was temperamental (stuck on one setting), but everything usable and overall great value for money. All the facilities are on your doorstep, so if you are travelling with children who don't go to bed at 8pm, it's perfect!
